Belgium, and towed through Western Scheldt, through locks at Ijmuiden to Amsterdam.
Elements cast in segments, prestressed to take transport
loadings.
Sand, clay, and soft soil conditions
Pontoons on top of the element at the inboard end and a floating crane on the outboard
end.
Gina/Omega gaskets
Elements cast in segments, concrete was cooled to prevent cracking and prestressing
was provided during transport.
